The importance of having a scout, particularly a technological one

After twelve years in the family business, Richard Uhlíř has now become the new CEO of Imedex. It is a critical milestone in the company's life cycle, which poses both risk and a huge opportunity for its further development. "What seemed impossible at first eventually materialised within six months. Also thanks to a great cooperation with our banker and the National Development Bank, we managed to find the right way to carry out my repurchase of a 100% business share in the company," outlines the new owner and CEO of Imedex.

Lucie Vejdová: We have strong roots and we are looking ahead

"In thirty years of our company history, we gradually moved up from a small garage to the first league. As a family business, we have strong roots in our hometown, but at the same time we are looking ahead and making plans for the future. It is invaluable to have a good financial partner on your side to turn your business visions into growth. For us, the Czech-Moravian Guarantee and Development Bank, today the National Development Bank, is such a partner who helps us finance our development while giving us crucial advice and support," says Lucie Vejdová, Managing Director of IMS-Drašnar.

Biomac reached success in Western Europe first and only then it has won the domestic market

A wicked winter reigns over the Olomouc Region. A bunch of boys puts on ice-skates and enters an ice-bound pond with hockey sticks in their hands. Few steps and they are in the middle of a sulphurous smoke where one can see not a bit. That is exactly the memory Zdeněk Černý carries through his life. That is why, when in 90´s he had a chance, he commissioned production of wooden briquettes. Although Czechia is not so radical to ban sulphur containing fuels promoting ecological methods yet, the BIOMAC company has become the largest briquette producer in Europe and one of the top three producers of pellets in the Czech Republic.

Contact systems of Hronovský company are mounted in cars almost all over the world

Josef Hronovský worked as a purchaser in Elton, Nové Město nad Metují, involved in trading with machined components at the end of 80´. “As I saw the possibilities to react to demand in a more flexible and cheaper way than our collaborators supplying the than rigid state companies did, I decided to start my own business in this sphere as soon as it would be possible,” Josef Hronovský recalls.

He wanted to implement research results into practice, so he started his own business

Stanislav Němeček was involved in R&D for more than ten years. He tested materials and analyses their degradation. He liked his work but he regretted that the research results had not been implemented into practice. And he also had a little bit problems in respecting authorities. Together with his colleague, they established the Matex PM company in 2005 ranking today among the top Europe companies active in development and application of laser technologies. Different approaches to further development of the company led to split of their co-operation. So, the RAPTECH company appeared, and Mr. Němeček is standing on a starting line again.
